The HR of the Future
People Operations, or People Ops for short, focuses on the management of an organization's employees, from hire to retire and everything in between.
You might be thinking, "but that's just HR!" And you'd be half right.
People Ops is the future of HR. As companies become more employee-centric, so too does HR. Traditionally, HR processes revolve around compliance, payroll, benefits, and employee management. Those things aren't going away. But People Ops ensures that teams are proactive rather than reactive.
People Ops teams achieve this through an employee-first attitude and a data-focused mentality. Metrics such as turnover, time-to-hire, median tenure, and employee satisfaction are paramount.
As a result, more and more companies are hiring "People" professionals instead of the age old HR roles such as benefits administrator or HR coordinator. By doing so, companies hope to empower their employees for day-to-day success.
