ORGANIZATIONAL AND POSITION OVERVIEW

Education Pioneers (EP) recruits, develops, and advances professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds to solve problems from outside of the classroom so students and teachers succeed in the classroom. Education Pioneers is at an inflection point. After pivoting and downsizing our programs in response to COVID, transitioning towards pre-pandemic aspirations for scale and long-term transformation. The Manager, People, Culture & Experience will play a critical role in our rebuild and transformation by

ensuring that we establish and implement consistent and effective practices to execute core administrative functions, streamline and scale our people operations to deliver seamless staff experiences, and build strong systems to maximize our effectiveness and impact across the organization.

This position will report to the Managing Director, People, Culture, and Experience and is a full-time exempt position.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following roles and responsibilities represent broadly what the Manager, People, Culture & Experience is responsible for and how they will advance work to achieve success, aligned with our organizational objectives over the next 2-3 years. As our organization evolves, you should expect that these roles and responsibilities could evolve or expand.

  • Organizational Operations and Administration: Manage and execute core operational processes and activities to support EP’s internal human assets, finance, systems, and admin functions (40%)Human Assets (15%)
  • Oversee and manage people operations and human assets processes and systems (e.g., employee benefits and policies, systems management, employee data management, etc.)
  • Manage employment data for current and former staff members, including tracking and documenting employment changes to ensure accurate payroll administration
  • Lead the process to select and enroll staff in annual benefits, aligned to organizational context and People and Culture vision
  • Finance (15%)
  • Manage EP’s accounts payable and expense processes to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely payment of bills, reimbursement for stakeholders, and tracking of spending.
  • Codify and communicate process, expectations, and timelines to enable clarity and efficiency.
  • Track progress and manage stakeholders to completion of key activities.
  • Problem solve around issues that arise. 
  • Execute activities related to accounts receivables and EP’s 403b account
  • Serve as the point person for finance questions and issues, including monitoring and managing shared inboxes to direct questions / issues to appropriate people and manage to resolution.
  • Technology and Systems (10%)
  • Ensure that all staff have the tools they need to do their work effectively, including:
  • Coordinate and facilitate initial technology set-up for new employees
  • Collaborate with EP’s IT provider to troubleshoot and problem solve around technology challenges
  • Manage virtual office operations
  • Track, monitor, and manage vendor contracts and renewals to enable proactive and effective decision-making on plan changes / adjustments and minimize disruption of service
  • EP Staff Hiring / On-Boarding: Ensure the successful hiring and on-boarding of new EP employees (35%)In partnership with the MD, People, Culture, and Experience, successfully manage the EP candidate selection process from application posting to final interviews and offer, ensuring that hiring outcomes are met and that the pool of candidates is diverse.
  • Project manage EP hiring managers to ensure they adhere to the process, timeline, and goals for candidate selection, and monitor pool diversity to achieve hiring outcomes.
  • Streamline the EP hiring experience for applicants by ensuring that they receive clear and timely communication throughout the process.
  • Manage and refine the EP staff onboarding and off-boarding experience, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation and knowledge management throughout the process.
  • Execute the administrative components of onboarding and off-boarding, including offer letters/contracts, benefits enrollment, systems and technology set-up, and any paperwork required for independent contractors and part-time staff.
  • Codify and refine the onboarding and offboarding process to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track and monitor key hiring activities and information, enabling the team to make data-driven decisions and continuously improve the EP hiring process.
  • People Experience: Support in the design, implementation and operations of EP’s people and culture vision (25%)Support in the planning and operations of EP’s twice a year in-person All Staff Experiences and monthly virtual all staff meetings
  • Support in building and maintaining EP’s culture by, including but not limited, to implementing EP’s vision for celebrating staff throughout the year and developing and implementing staff connection spaces.
  • Support in the roll-out and management of EP’s staff performance management cycle
  • Support in team and organizational knowledge management to ensure that information is easily accessible by staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree (required) 

  • 3-5 years of work of work experience, including experience in a people operations, project management or operations capacity 
  • Demonstrated project management experience with a track record of managing multiple complex problems at once and strong execution against project goals
  • Demonstrated customer service experience with an interest in building and maintaining relationships
  • Strong team orientation; ability to provide and accept feedback, and to work in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, cloud-based systems, and database management; experience with Salesforce strongly preferred
  • Ability to learn new systems and technology quickly

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Education Pioneers offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000
