Job Description Summary

The System Chief People Officer will report to the CEO, MUSC Health, will serve as a member of the executive team (Team System Council), and be responsible for health system wide human capital strategy, operations and integration with other MUSC / MUSC Health entities. Providing leadership in developing and executing human capital strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. The CPO will set strategic goals and ensure proper staffing and financial management to accomplish these goals. The CPO will represent MUSC Health, interacting effectively with board members, volunteers, community groups, patients and care team members. Functioning as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management across the health system regarding key organizational and management issues. Each division’s human resources leaders will have dotted line responsibility to the system CPO with solid line authority to the division CEO.Job Description

Additional Job Description


• Master’s degree in human resource, healthcare administration, business administration or other relevant degree. Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience with at least 5 year of executive HR experience within an integrated delivery system.

• Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and relevant trends. • Ability to effectively interact with executive management and boards.

• Demonstrated experience leading and managing human resources (HR) integration.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Human Resource accreditation, such as PHR or SPHR, preferred
