Job Introduction

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and educated payroll analyst. In this role, you must be experienced with high volume workforce, labor and employment regulations.

Job Description Summary Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular scheduled audits of payroll and time sheet data and identify realignment as required.
  • Responsible for processing off cycle manual payroll checks, stop payments and/or ACH payroll payments ensuring on-time payment to employees.
  • Research appropriate solutions and work with necessary parties, such as General Ledger, Human Resources, HRIS, Benefits and IT team to resolve issues.
  • Act as liaison between our external service providers outside agencies resolve payroll issues
  • Participate in software upgrade/system testing.
  • As the subject matter expert (SME), provides answers to payroll inquires and resolves all discrepancies as they arise.
  • Review and process leave adjustments in the system.
  • Coordinate training for the payroll team.
  • Support internal external audits.
  • Create and maintain any additional ad hoc analytics requests.
  • Prepare journal entries, and perform general ledger account reconciliations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience with additional training or education in payroll.
  • Experience with Deltek, Costpoint and UKG payroll preferred.
  • Able to use Excel at an intermediate level to write formulas and create visual charts.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work successfully both in a team environment and independent.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of processing payroll experience
  • 5 - 7 years of equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Must have payroll experience for high volume workforce >10,000
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • UKG experience strongly preferred
  • Costpoint and Deltek experience is a plus
  • 100% remote

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
