The Human Resources Associate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department. The Associate acts as a first point of contact with applicants and plays a strong role in the recruiting process. Additionally, the HR Associate will provide excellent internal client care for the employees of the College Fund, including conducting new hire on-boarding and taking responsibility for organizational orientation execution, as an integral part in championing and elevating company culture. The HR Associate is the key leader for payroll processing.

Essential Job Functions

  • Recruiting and Hiring Process –Build online, social and general presence of College Fund as a Top Employer
  • Proactively connect with candidates to develop a robust pipeline of candidates
  • Find pathways for connection with Native communities for talent partnerships, including connections with our student populations, relationships with Tribal Colleges and Universities, and relationships with the Denver area Native American community
  • Explore creative recruiting options for hard to fill positions
  • Identify and participate in career fairs
  • Provide hiring managers with recommendations on candidate progression
  • Conduct prescreens and coordinate later round interviews
  • Implement background check process
  • Meticulously complete internal process documentation and forms to support sourcing, screening and selection processes and ensure hiring process progression
  • Leverage ATS to maximum capacity

Support Employee Onboarding

  • Use virtual tools ad direct outreach to collect basic new employee information.
  • Collaborate with other teams including hiring department, IT, finance and office management to ensure on-boarding plan is in place and executed
  • Review HR policies and practices, including employee handbook with new hires
  • Conduct new employee orientations on benefits resources and tools including web demos, available benefits, eligibility, etc.
  • Schedule organizational orientation meetings
  • Conduct 30-day check-in with new employees

Lead Payroll Planning And Processing

  • Process semi-monthly and any special payroll required
  • Payroll reporting including retirement contributions, labor cost distributions, cash requirements and others as required
  • Set up all data in payroll including collaboration with third party vendor to establish tax accounts for new employment states

Support HR Department Objectives

  • With HR Director, support creating annual department goals and budgets
  • Support budget management and payment processing
  • Actively participate with employee engagement activities implementation

  • Demonstrated experience and success within human resources and specifically talent acquisition

Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • At least 3 years of human resources experience, specifically within recruiting and talent acquisition space

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM Specialty Credential – Talent Acquisition
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultures and/or specific experience with American Indian communities and culture
  • Familiarity with tribal colleges and universities and American Indian education

Work Environment and Physical Activities

  • Ability to lift twenty pounds
  • Ability to keyboard and view computer screens for long periods time
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
